San Antonio is industry and tourism centre. In San Antonio there is a fortress of Alamo — a symbol of finding the Texas independence. The city is a popular vacation spot for the tourists and about three million tourists annually arrive to the city. San Antonio is located on the river with the same name. But San Antonio starts the initiative to expand the sizes of the river channel, because for many years the north of the channel became a place where many will go only if they lose their way.

The place is overload with restaurants and retail shops and is not funny place for visiting. That’s why a overhaul is required, which will take about $72 million expenses. The main work will consist in doubling the sizes of the River Walk to ensure the undisturbed walk of the visitors of the new manicured waterway made with unusual art style. benches and fountains will be available for those who wish to rest and water taxis will be there to transfer the visitors to the desired attractions.

The River Walk museum will connect the tourists, who wish to take a rest from the busy market and business center, with the world of art and the Pearl Brewer. There will be also a path for pedestrian walks and for cyclists, which will lead to the Brackenridge Park and the zoo.

The River Channel will become real “artwork” according the words of Phil Hardberger, who started this big initiation. “The river, as it changes character, will assume different shapes and different personalities.”

The River Walk place built in 1940s is a famous place for tourists to visit, but after these changes local people how it will become one of the most visited and preferable vacation spots in Texas.

Because of the location of the park, now the visitors will have the opportunity to take a water taxi which will take them from the downtown up to this wonderful place for rest, or to feel the upstream and downstream move of boats, or just to walk on the paved paths. There are also trees and flowers lines on the River Walk to make the place even more attractive and natural and a small bridge connects two towers of the the art museum.

The Smoky Mountains Park which is a part of Appalachian mountains, celebrate its 75 anniversary, which will attract even more tourists to this famous among tourists place for walks and rest. One of the interesting facts are that it received its name because if the bluish fog shrouding the mountains. This fog is sated by the original aroma allocated by the local vegetation.

A variety of wildlife here is amazing. Over 1400 kinds of grassy plants decorate the mountain meadows from spring till the autumn, and in woods more than 120 kinds of trees grow.

However, many tourists come here basically to observe animals which diversity is a big in mountains; in this wide open space it is easy to notice them from a big distance. A black bear is widespread here— a population of this predator in the park territory counted about 1600.

Another symbol of the big Smoky Mountains is a salamander. In the park there are 30 of these amphibious kinds, including so-called marsh devil — the largest salamander of the North America, which is more than 70 cm in length.

In Smoky Mountains Park there are also magnificent falls. Certainly, their sizes are not so great as the falls of Niagara and Josemiti, however they are very beautiful. In this region since a long the the Cherokee Indians live. Today the Cherokee reservation is near to southern border of the park belongs.

The tourists will also have the possibility to visit the unique palace constructed in the style of French Renaissance, which consists of 250 rooms, a rare collection of arts, and surprising gardens with fountains. Wine tasting in palace cellars is possible.

75 anniversary of the Smoky Mountains Park will be a reason for many people to stop their daily life and to turn to the nature for rest.

If you planed to take a flight this summer, you will need to provide data, which you have not asked before. Will you be surprised, if while booking the tickets, they will require you birthday and gender?

Well, now no need to be surprised, because the Transportation Security Administration has started a new program, which main aim is to provide higher security to the passengers. The so-called “Secure Flight” program should cut down the number of people, who are in watch lists of the government.

As the names appear in the identification, issued by the government for people, who plan to travel by plane, the passengers have to write down their names when they book airline tickets. Along with this, the required data will also include date of birth and gender of the travelers. These changes in airline services will take place later this summer before the end of vacation period.

Asked to give an interview by phone, the TSA’s director Paul Leyh said that these sanctions are necessary to increase the airport security and to give a confidence to the passengers that they will travel with people, who are not included in the watch list. He also added that this program is in her initial phase yes, so the passengers should not be worried if they are not asked for these data. Leyh still can’t say which of the airlines operate with this new security program and which will start to work with these data collection from the later summer. These new restrictions will apply for the flights throughout the territory of USA.

New passports are required from June 1 for the citizens of Mexico, who wish to cross the United States’ border. The Mexicans should have high-tech documents issued in order to increase the US security. Actually these restrictions include not only the Mexican, but also the Canadian border with USA.

After the terrorist attacks on the September 11 the 9/11 Commission offered some necessary changes to avoid future tragedies. Until today these changes had not operated because of some worries on behalf of state officials, who thought that such new rules will stop the people’ flow and will affect the economy of the border cities.

From this Monday the Americans should apply for new passports or in case they would like to cross the US border by car, they should have special driver’s licenses according to the new restrictions. Some of tourists who learned about the new laws consider these rules as not much “friendly”, which will cause their inconvenience in passing the border.

But according Mike Williams, who is the local Blaine resident, these rules are necessary because of the unsafely world we live in.

The new border restrictions can cause a headache to people, who still don’t learn about the Commission measures to increase the security level in USA. In front of one of the Texas local courthouses there is a long line of people, who hurry up to apply for the new documents. But according to the officials, the operation of the new rules will be smooth and without big problems. People will soon adjust to the new requirements and will take them as a normal measure for their own safety.

Those people who try to cross the border without the required new passport will be warned and after paying a background check, he will be allowed to enter in USA. The new rules also include the Sea border.

The EasyJet plans to give the passengers a possibility to get married during the flights came to naught, because the Bedfordshire county council rejected this proposal. Thus the Airline was forced to stop with its plans to attract more adventurer couples, who would be interested in not trivial ways of introduction into marriage like to dive under water, to jump with a parachute, including to have a wedding in skies during the flight.

The airline also planed to issue to pilots licenses for carrying out of wedding ceremonies. If the pilots acquire the right to register marriages, then the pilots of EasyJet would occupy simultaneously two posts. Unfortunately all these plans will not come into reality after the decision of the council to forbid an authorisation of such form of wedding organization at more than 30,000 ft.

The council spokeswoman explained this decision with the argument that the law forbids a marriage to take a place ‘on board an aircraft”, but suppose to make the wedding ceremonies at London Luton Airport.

He added that it is necessary to include representatives of local authority in organization of any civil ceremony and it is not the pilot, who should make this ceremony valid, but superintendent registrar.

A number of people, who have planned eventual future marriage on the board of the airplane, were disappointed after this decision of the council.

Here are the words of Andrew McConnell, the easyJet’s UK representative, who comment this prohibition: “It would appear that faceless bureaucrats in windowless offices have scuppered the dreams of many who wished to get married in the air.”

If the proposal of EasyJet was accepted, this airline would be the first airline, which would offer the original service of weddings in the skies.

Because of the inadequate forecasts of the Britain’s weather service, which did not predict the warm weather this week, the Bournemouth’s tourism suffer losses because of the lack of tourists and respectively their money. The tourism chief of this beautiful seaside town is angry because of the poorly made forecast, which made visitors to stay away from the resort.

Instead of gloomy and wet weather on Monday, as it should be per forecast, Bournemouth has a sunny and warm day, which even is defined as one of the days with the best weather. The temperature reaches 23 C, which completely upset the owner because of the eventual benefits he would have if the forecast was correct.

The city of Bournemouth is just in 110 miles southwest of London and according Mark Smith who is the local tourism head namely this forecast kept the tourists away from his city. He believes there definitely would be a stream of visitors if they knew for a good weather beforehand. This is the reason for him to make publicly complaining because of the inadequate forecasts. All hotels, shops and restaurants owners have losses because of the empty beaches in this coastal resort city.

Because of the great weather, British media and newspapers publish special features about the brilliant sunny day, in which the temperature is just with one degree cooler than in such famous vacation places as warm southern Spain.

Barry Gromett who is the guilty forecaster admitted that the forecast was not completely accurate, but he underlined that it was right for six of seven days. Furthermore, the location of the tourist town, which is on the Atlantic Ocean coast, makes it difficult to predict accurately, because the weather there is quite changeable. T

The other thing according Gromett, which influences of the weather in this region, is the close situation of European continent. The weather in Britain, he said, is “our Achilles heel”, because there can be seasons in one day. All this makes forecasting quite difficult for precise predictions.

Hosts of Chinese will make merry this Thursday chomping at rice cakes covered with bamboo leaves marking the Dragon Boat Festival. The Nation’s most sardonic formal holiday will be marked by numerous boat rowing races with teams competing in dragon shaped vessels.

It is ironic that Qu Yuan, the most illustrious of all Chinese dissidents, can be feted with a day by a dictatorial state that bats no eyelid pounding any semblance of opposition by its nationals. Legend has it that Qu Yuan committed suicide by drowning himself in a river over two millennia ago. This nationalistic minister is said to have stood up to the inept shady government of the time but lost favor and was deported.

According to the opposition, the status quo remains in the current Chinese political arena. The leadership still wields an iron rod and pins down any semblance of dissension nipping it at the bud.

This in itself paints a bad picture of the otherwise noble festival.

Qu Yuan was also feted in Taiwan which also invalidated opposition during its days of military rule that closed in 1987. Similarly Singapore celebrates the day by masking as a sporting event despite lack of freedom of association in the country.

The fiesta which was given official government recognition in 2008 has been part and parcel of Chinese life for ages more so in the South of the country. Apparently no one has had the guts to seek public opinion on this sticky issue.

The fete seems to have acquired an international life of sorts with international teams participating in the recent times. So far there have been racing teams for the U.S., Australia and several European countries. This becomes more of a modernization of the peoples’ bid to try and rescue Qu Yuan when they got wind of his plunge into the Milou River.

LAS VEGAS is back to the rock, bargains and client bonuses for Las Vegas casinos. Fast food is up together with excellent dining tabs are down and lodge rooms are accessible for less than $50 in a city that has been calling on recession-weary tourists to come back and amuse themselves at the quarter slot machines. The hippest obsession on Las Vegas Boulevard this year is Value.

At O’Sheas Casino, the president of five Harrah’s Entertainment Inc., hotel-casinos on the Las Vegas Strip is poking fun at the financial recession and the extremes that built Sin City’s anything-goes standing. Don Marrandino points at a sign pushing $45 bottles of Jack Daniels whiskey or Smirnoff vodka, and says the endorsement parodies the not-too-distant past when the gaming resorts marked up liquor by hundreds of dollars a bottle and patrons couldn’t drain them quick and adequately.

Marrandino explained as he runs his normal course checking his casinos that his employees have had to be more imaginative to maintain customers flowing through the doors.

Across Las Vegas, casinos established customers reluctant to pay premium prices for just about everything, from meals to hotel rooms, drinks and amusement. At the present, an approach that casino executives laid out previously that this year is taking shape — contributing bargains and fighting for guests without spending much to build the next big attraction.
