There are several restaurants in Khartoum but very few are popular that can offer an international style of cuisine. Solitaire restaurant is just new in the area, but it has tremendously gained popularity among the locals and foreigners too. You can observe that dining tables are occupied on a daily basis because of the tasty menus that are available and the kind of service that the staff renders to its customers.

The dishes are artistically arranged with a touch of oriental mixture and availability of international cuisine such as American, Chinese, Mexican and Italian choices. You will enjoy savoring the tasty chicken rolls that are served with filling of herbs and “mozzarella” cheese in a chicken kiev way of presentation. This special dish comes with French fries and roasted vegetables, as well as a bowl of mayonnaise.

Solitaire restaurant is also famous for “Veal Emance zurichoise, a kind of beef stroganoff surrounded with mashed potatoes. These potatoes are not as dry and fluffy compared to the servings in other known outlets, and they are less soggy than ordinary types. You will not miss out a single dish in the menu because of its delicious taste that can even make you decide to bring home some.

You can try the beef steak or the fish fillet which is one of the favorites of the customers that frequent this restaurant. As one of the few options for a fine dining place with first-class service in Khartoum, Solitaire can meet any discriminating taste of locals and tourists alike. Its friendly service has been known to please the diners that induce them to keep coming back. Most of the staff is composed of English-speaking Filipinos who takes care of your needs with smiling faces.

The only problem that you might encounter is the crowded dining area on weekdays especially during weekends.

Egypt is a popular tourism destination because of the many standing wonders found in it. Tourism is undoubtedly among the great revenue earners for the country. One of the most frequented Egyptian places is Giza City, home of the Great Pyramids. The city is flooding with architectural wonders. Located at the northern side of the Giza Plateau, Giza City is approximately 10 miles to the west of Cairo, the biggest city in the African continent and the 5th largest in the planet.
Giza City is identified as the necropolis of old Egypt called Memphis. The Great Pyramids of Giza are the prime tourism attraction. The structures are more than 4,500 years old. Visitors are awed that seeing the sight of the pyramids is like transporting back to thousands of years ago. The structures are made of three pyramids along a sphinx, a huge odd figure with a peculiar body of a lion and a head of a man, believed to have been constructed to serve as the necropolis’ guardian.
The Great Pyramids are comprised of three huge pyramids, namely, the Great Pyramid of Khufu (also known as Khufu’s Horizon), the Great Pyramid of Khafre (also called Khafre the Great) and the Great Pyramid of Menkaure (known as Divine Menkaure). There are more than a hundred other smaller pyramids scattered around the country, most of which are older, but the Great Pyramids of Giza are undoubtedly the most popular.

Khufu’s Pyramid

Khufu’s Pyramid is also called the Great Pyramid of Giza. It is the biggest and oldest of the three ancient structures. As such, the sole pyramid is known as the only survivor among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. No one could miss the mighty sight of Khufu’s Pyramid. It is about 30 times bigger than the huge Empire State Building in New York. Interestingly, the pyramid is large enough to be seen from the moon.
For more than 3,800 years, the Great Pyramid of Giza had been considered the world’s tallest man-made structure. No less than the Romans and the Greeks had recorded the wonder of the pyramid. What is most appealing about the structure is that it is enduring enough to last numerous efforts to dismantle and plunder it. To most tourists, the Great Pyramid, along with the two others, is a proof of ancient Egyptians’ superb mathematical expertise, as well as construction, organizational and project planning knowledge and skills.

What to do

The best vacation activity in Gaza is sight-seeing, but of course. There are many breath-taking ways to see and admire the pyramids. The most popular among tourists is camel-riding out into the vast desert very early in the morning. Just after sunrise (at dawn), bystanders will feel the coolness of the desert breeze. It may be too hot to wander off the desert by noon or early afternoon.
Climbing any of the pyramids is prohibited, though interior access is offered to tourists at fairly expensive fees. The insides of the structures are not for claustrophobics (people who are afraid of enclosed spaces). Because Khufu’s Pyramid is the most popular, access is somehow restricted. Going inside the pyramid requires an extra ticket fee. Entry is also restricted to just about 300 visitors a day, so if you came in a little late, chances are you could book an inside tour the next day.
Around the pyramids could be found numerous local villagers who sell trinkets and postcards. Some rent out camels for rides. There are a number of village shops that sell different crafts and souvenir items. Other villagers seize opportunities by serving as instant tour guides. Some tend to be creative in earning revenues by dressing up in colorful Arab fineries and decorating camels so that tourists will be lured to take pictures. Be reminded that taking photographs with such villagers and camels comes with specific fees or commissions, called baksheesh.
From the site of the Great Pyramids of Giza, tourists can also take innovative tours to the plateau of Abusir and Saqqara, where many other pyramids could be sighted. Many tourists are lured by the idea of traveling from one place to another through riding camels. Thus, most guided tours offer camel riding, which can already be a tourist attraction in itself.
Nightlife is capped by evening light shows that are truly spectacular. There are scheduled light and sound shows that are open specifically to tourists. Different travel and tourism firms produce such shows, so do not be surprised that some of the shows come in alternate languages. This facilitates a night of comprehensive and magnificent narrative.

How to travel, where to stay and when to go

The easiest and best way to go to the Great Pyramids of Giza is to get to Cairo, Egypt’s capital, first. From other countries, you can book sea or air travel. Giza City is just about 6 miles to 7 miles away from Cairo. Thus, tourists can easily hire a cab to cross the Pyramids Road and get to the vicinity of the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx.
There may not be accommodations in the vicinity, but tourists could stay at popular tourist hotels in Cairo and Giza City. Egyptian hotels offer extensive facilities, though standards could fall short compared to hotels in Western nations. For just about $10, any vacationer could book a hotel room overnight. Luxury resort accommodations could be as costly as $220 per night, still dependent on demand. Be reminded that reservations in hotels, hostels and pensions could be a little more expensive in Cairo than in other places around the city.
March and April are spring months, considered the peak tourism season in Giza and Egypt as a whole. Tourists could best enjoy touring around as the weather gets very comfortable, though occasional desert storms could happen. Needless to say, most tourist crowds come in spring, making roads congested and accommodations logically more expensive. Summer months of May to October are very hot. Expect to book cheaper hotel rates and choose from more holiday accommodations available.

Marrakech is considered as one of the most important cities in the country of Morocco. Also called the “Red City,” Marrakech is the economic capital of the Marrackech-Tensift-Al Haouz region, one of the 16 regions of Morocco. It is also a well known tourist spot for a number of its attractions, including religious sites such as the Koutoubia Mosque and the Ben Youssef Medrassa, palaces such as the El Badi Palace and the Royal Palace, and mausoleums such as the Saadian Tombs. Its Atlas Mountains, Marrakech’s famed mountain range, is also popular (particularly the valley in Ourika River, which is in the Atlas Mountains). Trips to Marrakech are made by tourists who want to visit the Draa River valley near the Sahara desert and the waterfalls in the Beni Mellal.

Therefore, when visit an important city like Marrakech, tourists need to stay at an equally important place. There are many hotels and apartments in Marrakech, to be sure, although many may not think so. But staying at Marrakech should not just be a typical vacation; it should be an entirely unique. This is why it is best to stay at a place where the experience is magnified to further enhance the guests’ appreciation of the city’s unique beauty.

Hivernage Hotel And Spa, a four-star hotel in Marrakech, does exactly that. This 85-room hotel has the most spectacular view, for one: it has a scenic terrace that overlooks the Bad Jdid walls and the famed Atlas peaks. All its six floors adhere to its main theme—global contemporary style combined with Moorish art and designs. This distinction may seem overused already, but it really fits this hotel. After all, Morocco feels like a country in between traditions, since it is near both the Arabic regions and Africa. As many guests say, Morocco feels Arab and African but isn’t; a characteristic that isn’t exactly new considering how world influences merge. In a sense, however, this national motif fits well with the hotel.

The rooms of Hivernage Hotel And Spa shows exactly how this works. Their rooms sport the tradition Moorish designs, furnishing, and decors—from the arc-shaped corridor separating the beds from the terrace/living area to the bed sheets. Great lengths were taken to make sure that the rooms will be exactly how you imagined a luxury hotel in this area; except, it also has some subtle additions to make the rooms cozier even to those who may feel uncomfortable due to the somewhat unfamiliar interiors. There are four types of rooms at the Hivernage Hotel And Spa: the standard rooms, the deluxe rooms the junior rooms, and the senior rooms.

And what would a hotel named the Hivernage Hotel And Spa be without the titular spa and health center? The hotel’s spa is famed all over the country for its luxurious design and even more luxurious service. Named the Le Spa de l’Hivernage, this place is concerned as one of the highlights of the guests’ stay. The spa also has a sport’s hall and an aerobics center, a sauna, and a Jacuzzi for those who want to relax. The hotel’s restaurant, the La Table du Marche, is also as famed, thanks to its imminent head chef. Hivernage Hotel And Spa also has a bar on the first floor, a great base and meeting place for everyone—from those who are in for a serious business to those who simply want to chill out.
Marrakech, despite being prominent to the rest of world, is not viewed as a world-class city. However, Hivernage Hotel And Spa proves that Marrakech can indeed match the beauty and the features of other cities in the world.
