Seven Mile Beach – You Can Never Get Enough Of It
Seven Mile Beach is the most known beach of the Grand Cayman Island, Cayman Islands located at its west shore. It is a long sickle-shaped sandy beach, known for the amazing natural beauty. It is considered a superb setting and received recently the title of the Best Beach in the Caribbean, from Life Magazine and Caribbean Travel. It is one of the finest white sand beaches in the world, with crystal clear blue waters. The main theme and slogan is ‘Come enjoy Seven Mile Beach Grand Cayman for a day, a week, or a month. You can never get enough’.
Its name is kind of misleading though, as the beach is 5.5 miles long and is progressively shrinking, due to the erosion of ground is certain spots. The beach lies in close proximity to George Town, the capital of the Cayman Island.
The Seven Mile Beach is the most developed and popular area of the Island, recommended in every travel guide about the Cayman. It is home to the vast majority of hotels and resorts in the area. Despite the destructive results of Hurricane Ivan in 2004, most of the hotels and seaside resorts are back to business, running at full capacity.
Seven Mile Beach belongs to the state and no parts of the beach are secluded or prohibited areas; visitors can walk the full length, passing by hotels and villas along. There are numerous restaurants and public bars and beach clubs there, as well as water sports facilities. The Marriott hotel features an artificial reef suitable for snorkeling, although there are some small reefs north of the beach.
Visitors and tourists who travel there are strictly prohibited to play loud music or appear on the beach naked; however, grilling and pets off leash are allowed. Grand Cayman and its most famous beach is a place that no one can ever get bored.
