There is ‘No Doubt’ Anaheim is Home to Disneyland

Anaheim

Located in Orange County, Anaheim has a population of just fewer than 350,000 citizens. The city is well known for its convention center, sports teams and theme parks. Originally founded by a group of families from Germany in 1857, Anaheim is now a large industrial center. Businesses in the city produce electronics, canned fruits and aircraft parts.

It is the famous home for Disneyland Resort. Also located in the city are the Anaheim Convention Center, Angel Stadium of Anaheim and Honda Center. The city gets its name from “Ana” after the Santa Ana River and the word “heim” a German place name. Prior to the opening of Disneyland, the city and the area immediately surrounding it was largely rural farmland. Cash crops included fruits and vegetables. The opening of Disneyland changed the face of the city.

It became almost solely focused on tourism and the service industry, although there is still a large rural farmland contingent. Anaheim receives many visitors each year. People flock there to enjoy the many parks and theme parks of Disneyland as well as some of the best professional sports teams in the country. These include the Major League Baseball team the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the National Hockey Leagues Anaheim Ducks, named after the team from the movie ‘The Mighty Ducks.’ The city is consistently ranked among some of the safest cities in the country, with the crime rate being less than half of the average for the country over all.

Of all of the famous residents of the city, perhaps the band No Doubt and its front singer, Gwen Stefani are most famous. A popular city for conventions, Anaheim is also a great place to visit whether you are a child or a grown up. Its many attractions guarantee a fun visit for those who travel there.
