Traveling to Southern California? Come visit the Glass Wonder of Crystal Cathedral! This part of Southern California is more about its famous beaches and the resident mouse that lives not too far away. It also holds some breathtaking architectural structures. Take some time on your trip to sunny California to see the splendors of Crystal Cathedral. Located in the City of Garden Grove, this building is comprised of thousands of panes of glass. Each pane is glued together in the hopes of withstanding anything. It took four years to complete the church. It would be another ten years before the Prayer Spire would be completed.

Though by the name, you may think Crystal Cathedral is just that, a cathedral in the religious sense of the word. Yes, it is a church, but the word “cathedral” is on a reference for the size and the appearance of the structure. This term does not refer to the type of religion that is practiced there. It is a Christian church of the Reformed Church Group of America. They hold the weekly “Hour of Power” television shows seen by millions and are also known for its music program which is accompanied by one of the world’s largest pipe organs. Many of the famous have come through their doors to give their life testimonies. Besides regular church services, it also has support groups and daily many Christians come here for gatherings.

This glass gem has been featured in everything from television episodes on some of your favorite programs from MTV to The Simpsons. Not known as much as some of the bigger counties in California, Orange County has some of the country’s most beautiful places to visit and when traveling through make sure this landmark, The Crystal Cathedral is on your to do list of places to see.
