Breathtaking scenes of Engadin, Switzerland


Looking for more than just a ski trip to the Alps? Take some time while you are there and visit the town of Engadin, in the southeastern part of Switzerland. This area of Switzerland, off the Austria border is known for its beauty. It is a vacation paradise for even the locals. Known for its lush valleys and exquisite skies, this area will leave you breathless. It is divided into two parts, Upper Engadin and Lower Engadin

If the beauty of this area isn’t enough to take your breath away, well, there are many other ways to do just that. In the winter you can go to their highest peaks and ski some of the world’s most famous peaks. There’s a reason the winter Olympics was here twice. If the high altitude is too much for you, there is plenty to do in the valleys! The Engadin region also is known for their biking and hiking trails and sailing on their beautiful lakes. Went even more adventure? Take a white water rafting trip or hang glider or maybe try wind surfing!

One of the most popular resorts in the world, St. Moritz, is located here. This sits as the prime infrastructure of Engadin. People first discovered this area for their mineral springs and it soon and still is the Mecca for the rich and famous. The sun is known to shine over 300 days of year here, giving more to its attractions of nature.

In Engadin, there are plenty of small valley towns to venture to. Trains are abundant in this area, the Glacier Express being the most popular. One of the best ways to experience the countryside is a trip by cable car through the mountains. No matter what your travel plans are in Switzerland, this area offers the best of everything.
