Not only will you be able to take a tour of this majestic wonder, your guide will be from the Navajo Indian Tribe. This timeless beauty is owned and operated by the Navajo Parks and Recreation Department. They will be the transport for your trip. There are lots of tour groups to choose from. You can find them locally, on the internet or go by word of mouth at your local hotel. They may even be able to offer you a discount package. Some tour operators will pick you up if you are staying locally in the town of Page.

Antelope Canyon is an easy walk for most people. The canyon is approximately 1/8 of a mile long. There are actually two sides to the Canyon, but a far as a tour goes, you would only need to visit one side, though they offer tours for both.

Antelope Canyon is a photographer’s paradise. This sandstone bedrock has been being sculpted for thousands of years from the rains and the draining into Lake Powell. The colorful hues you will experience from the way the sunlight comes through the many curves and hollow spots are amazing. But don’t think you can find the entrance alone. From the side of the road, you are bound to miss it completely. You will have to go under to see this natural wonder as you take a ladder down into this narrow canyon.

So, if you will be traveling to Arizona this year, take your family and make a day of it at Antelope Canyon.
