Malta is a Year Round Destination

The largest island in the Maltese Archipelago is Malta. Centrally located in the Mediterranean, between Sicily and Africa, the climate is pleasing all year. You may experience a few cold days in mid winter. There are also some very hot and humid days in the middle of summer. Overall, however, one can find sunbathers soaking up the rays all year long.

A unique destination for the single traveler, couples and even families, Malta is a perfect vacation choice. The traveler need not be concerned about communication difficulties as English is the country’s second language after native Maltese. You will find the native peoples warm, friendly and inviting. They will generally go out of their way to be hospitable. The visitor should use courtesy and adhere to the RTO postings (Restricted to Outsiders) and avoid traversing in these areas.

Besides the warm, inviting beaches on the island, there is much to do and see. If you are into the nightclub scene, St. Julian’s is where to be after the sun goes down. There are many open air concert and show venues with talent from around the world. If you are more of an outdoor sports enthusiast, hiking, diving and rock climbing await you. The island offers every water sport imaginable and equipment rental prices are extremely reasonable. The summer months are the time when festivals and celebrations abound. You may view parades and be entertained by marching bands and highly decorated costuming.

If you detest heat and humidity, you may wish to refrain from visiting in July and August when temperatures hover in the low 80’s. Similarly, if temperatures below 65F really bother you, then January may not be the right month for you to visit Malta. For most people, however, the few excessively hot or cold days in each year do not deter them from enjoying this captivating island. Malta continues to be a holiday destination that people enjoy all year long.
