When you think of Italy you cannot help but to think of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Regardless of whether you are young or old, we have all heard of this famous place in Italy. It is actually located in Psa and is a bell tower that has 294 steps to climb in order to reach the top.

In the inside of the tower, you will find that there are many different galleries that are housed throughout each level. The artwork that you will see here is amazing and has been dated back to the year of 1174. The 14th century has a lot that we can learn from and this is made possible by making a trip to the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

There are a total of 6 open galleries that you can visit and learn about our wonderful history. In order to climb the stairs, they are in a spiral shape that you must climb in order to get to the top and stretch along the inner walls of the tower.

When the construction began of the tower, it actually started to sink into the ground and the construction has ceased for approximately 90 years. The building of the tower than started up again and the belfry was then completed and stayed leaning.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is watched over very carefully due to the fact that it is still sinking into the ground. For this reason, if you are thinking about making a trip to Italy and seeing the tower, you should consider this trip very soon in the near future. It will not be gone in the next several years but, it will slowly start to disappear.
