The Capital Lhasa

Lhasa is the capital of Tibet. If you have ever visited the Himalayas on a vacation, you should have gone to visit this wonderful place. If you are planning a vacation trip there than make sure that this is a part of your tour. The meaning of the word is Land of the Gods. It sits in a valley and is over 1,300 years old. The history speaks volumes.

You will find that there are many different restaurants that you can choose from as well as great hotels and stores that you can shop at while you are visiting Lhasa. There is also a great Tibetan influence here. This is a part of China that has very deep roots and beliefs.

Because of it sitting 12000 feet above sea level, many visitors have a hard time adjusting to the difference in altitude. You can book a tour that is lasting of 3 to 7 days in length and hopefully you will be able to adjust enough in that amount of time.

Depending upon where you will be coming from for your tour, whether it is form Nepal or Tibet, you will find that there are many different types of travel arrangements that you can make. It is important to keep in mind the time difference as well when it comes to making your travel arrangements.

Lhasa is one of the most beautiful places that you can visit. The history will take your breath away as you learn of the many different faces of those that live there and that have lived there. Be sure to plan your trip far enough in advance so you do not miss out on anything during your trip. You will go home with more knowledge than you thought was possible with a new outlook on life.
