The Killeen House – the Golfers’ Paradise in Ireland

Killeen House

The Killeen House is a small and charming hotel in Ireland, dedicated almost exclusively to golf and its fans and players. It is the absolute choice for all avid golfers who visit Ireland to play the amazing courses in Killarney. It was established in 1838 as a farm house; later one it became a maternity home. It was bought in 1992 by Michael and Geraldine Rosney who decided to restore it and transform it to what we see today.

The Killeen House took its name from the Irish word Killeen which means ‘ holy place’. Today, it is a lovely hotel that can accommodate couples, families or small groups of guests. It features a marvellous garden and space, suitable for kids who can play and enjoy their games safely. The Rosneys decided to maintain the family and cosy atmosphere of the site, offering personalised services in a very friendly and hospitable way. It is located in close proximity to the famous Curragh Chase National Forest Park and a half hour drive from the Shannon Airport.

The Killeen House is the perfect base to explore the numerous sites of attraction in the wider region. The Killarney region features the Torc Waterfalls, the homonym National Park and the Ring of Kerry, reminding to guests why Irish countryside is known all over the world. It also boasts one of the most beautiful and picturesque settlements, the Adare village where plenty of cottages and beds and breakfasts can be found.

The Killeen House features 23 spacious and comfortable guestrooms, and eight suites – the oldest and most traditional ones – which are both cosy and elegant. It also houses a lovely restaurant catering tasteful and unique flavours and dishes. Traditional Irish Pubs offering live music are very close to the hotel and are open all year long.
